For the last 10 years, our good friend Dusty Payne has been one of the surfing world’s brightest lights – from throwing down the best sections in the biggest movies, to making the WSL Dream Tour and winning some of the most prestigious contests in the world, including the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa. And he’s done it all with a huge smile on his face.
In between the highest of highs though, he’s also undergone some incredible injury hardships. Wrecked ankles, torn MCLs and back surgery tested him like few other surfers, but at the start of 2018, Dusty faced his biggest challenge yet – a horrific wipeout at Backdoor fracturing his skull and breaking his jaw that he was lucky to live through. Never one to give up, this is his story about coming back from the brink. Dusty is Relentless.
