WORLD-FIRST JS CONCEPT STORE OPENS IN BYRON BAY

Surfers all over the Byron Shire lucked out with an amazing run of waves over the Christmas/New Year period, but one gift that we can guarantee won’t stop giving is our new JS Garage – a first-of-its-kind concept store right in the heart of town! Continuing our proud history with the area, which began in the late 90s through a partnership with the legendary Timperley brothers surf shops, the Garage is a hardware-focused shop stocking 150 of our latest board models - including the brand new HYFI technology. An essential range of accessories and limited release clothing will also be on the floor. Running the Garage are Tim Carroll and Wade Roberts, our two local experts who have both been in the surf industry for 10+ years. The boys have a long history of global surf travel and competitive surfing behind them, and easily met every requirement we had in our mission to find the perfect fit for the concept store’s day-to-day operations. Recent best-sellers include the Monsta 3 (thanks to this great run of swell) and global favourite Blak Box II, with the latter in both standard PU and HYFI construction. With summer in full swing across the Northern Rivers, we caught up with Tim and Wade last week to discuss their plans for the first round of local events to open up the Garage and invest in the Byron community and surrounds. “We’re planning on coordinating a few different ways to interact with the locals,” says Wade. “Everything from demo days at the beach to beer nights and movie premiers at the shop to keep it fresh.” Tim goes on, “We really want to have a good impact around town; we both know a lot of people and a solid portion of our customers are good mates. It’s a friendly, welcoming environment for anyone to easily walk in and check out some of the best surfboards available anywhere in the world.
